This is a downloadable sewing pattern for a skater skirt.

This cute skater skirt is a quick sew that you can make for an active princess. It has a box pleated skirt and a jersey knit waistband for maximum comfort and a pretty shape.

Skater skirt features:

• woven skirt and knit fabric waistband;
• layered PDF feature of the pattern. This allows you to print only the sizes you are going to need.
• seam and hem allowance included;
• a step-by-step sewing tutorial;
• different length options

Materials:

Fabric: Use light to medium-weight woven fabric like cotton, rayon, etc. Use any type of jersey knit with a 4-way stretch for the waistband.
Other materials: 3/4 inch to 1’’ (2-3 cm) wide elastic for the waist.

Skill level: Confident beginner.

Fabric consumption:

You are going to need 12 inches/30 cm of 2- or 4-way stretch knit fabric for the waistband in all sizes.
Fabric consumption of woven fabric: up to 32’’ (80 cms) in the largest size.
If you choose to lengthen the skirt, add the appropriate amount to the overall consumption of woven fabric for the skirt.

Size: US 2 – 14 years, EU 92 – 164 (see the size chart in images for detailed measurements).

This size chart is for body measurements, not for ready garment measurements. Make sure to follow the fabric recommendations and choose a size according to your body measurements.

Printing: This pattern is designed to print on A4 or US Letter (8.5” x 11”) size paper.

A large format print shop version of the pattern is provided in a separate file. The pattern has layered sizes that allow you to print only the sizes that you want. 

Your computer or device must have Adobe Acrobat to open this file.

Detailed printing, cutting, and sewing instructions are included in the pattern.

Fabric consumption depends on the width of the fabric and the size you are going to make. The table in the images can be used as a reference to approximate fabric consumption if the fabric is at least 55 inches/140 cm wide.

Please, consider that natural fabrics like rayon and cotton shrink so measure after pre-wash.

Tools:

  1. Regular sewing machine.
  2. Scissors for fabric and for paper.
  3. Pins.

Optional: serger. You can choose to join the details with a serger or clean the edges of the fabric details for a more professional look.
