Repairs and alterations

Repairs and alterations take the biggest part of my daily routine as a sewer. I usually work on curtains, pants, skirts, jackets, bathing suits and bras, blouses and shirts. I even work on dog’s clothes and human hair. Honestly, repairs and alterations are not the most rewarding part of my job. But the reaction of my clients when I rescue their clothes is worth it. And it helps me make a living. 🙂

Here I want to share what I’ve learned through my practice. On all the pictures and videos, it is me, working on my clients’ clothes.

In this post, you can see how I repair ripped jeans using textile glue.

Or, learn how to shorten pants with a technique that looks good on most of them – double folded hem.
