Pattern testing call – Girls and Women Dress pattern

*******This pattern testing call has ended****

I am excited to announce the pattern testing call for this modern, simple dress. In fact, it is not just one but two patterns - a women and a girls version. The long and short sleeve options make the dress appropriate for any season.

For anyone interested in testing the pattern, I suggest three options - to test in girls sizes, to test in women sizes, or to test as a mummy and me set.

We've worked hard on adding a wider range of sizes and a large format of the patterns as well. I hope you are going to enjoy making this dress in any of its variations.

Naming the pattern

I enjoy making the patterns, but I seem to have a hard time giving them names. I was thinking that you might help with this task and name the pattern.

So, let's start a contest for the name of the pattern.

Whoever gives the most appealing name of the pattern will get a FREE COPY OF BOTH THE WOMEN AND THE GIRLS PATTERN without having to participate in the testing process.

To apply in this pattern naming contest, join the Facebook group here and comment on the pinned post that asks for suggestions.

Fabric requirements:

You are going to need medium-lightweight knit fabric. The fabric should have a good recovery and 50% to 75% 2-way or 4-way stretch like cotton, ryon, Ponte de Roma. Some kind of jersey knit would be a good choice.

For this dress, I’ve used 95%/5% rayon/elastane. We don't recommend woven fabrics for this pattern.

A time frame for this pattern tasting:

As soon as we get a small team of testers together, we are going to start. I plan to start Monday, February 5th, and finish by Wednesday, February 14th, to give those working on both patterns as a set enough time to finish.

Once we start, testers are going to have until February 14th to provide the pictures of their finished projects.

Please, don't apply for this testing if you are not going to be able to meet the time frame.

Requirements for pattern testing:

You must follow the pattern and the sewing instructions exactly for the purpose of this testing. You may not modify the pattern while testing. Blending sizes and shortening/lengthening are OK. Some experience with knits would be considered an advantage.

I would need you to send me some pictures of a kid and/or yourself, modeling the dress.

Please, don’t apply for the pattern testing if you are not OK sharing those pictures with me and our readers on the internet. For reference what those pictures need to be, see the ones included in this post.

The chosen testers will be invited to a private Facebook group, where we can discuss the pattern and possible revisions, share pictures, resolve issues and get guidance while testing the pattern.

Please, apply through this form.

In the application form, please say a few words about why you are interested in making the pattern, which version and size you are interested in making and whether or not you have some experience sewing with knits.

Make sure that the email you apply with is your best one because I am going to contact you to receive the pattern and an invitation to the private Facebook group.

What the testers are going to get:

You are going to get the final, approved copy of the version of the pattern you are testing, with both A4 and A0 large format variations and different sleeve length options in all sizes according to the size chart above.

Thank you so much for your interest in this pattern testing! Here is the application form once again:
