Description of the Girl's Shrug Pattern
This is a Free printable PDF sewing pattern for a Girls Shrug Design. I make a lot of those for my girls for spring/autumn season so that they can wear sleeveless tops throughout the warm days and put something on in the chilly mornings and evenings.
I find this pattern to be easy to match with any outfit, so you can make a couple if you'd like.
This pattern is designed for knitted fabric. It can be made from any type of medium weight knitted fabric and jersey knits like cotton or rayon, Ponte de Roma, etc (two or four-way stretch and good recovery).
You can use this pattern with a rigid knit or woven fabrics as well, but MAKE SURE TO GO ONE SIZE UP THAN YOUR BODY MEASUREMENTS.
There are short and long sleeve versions included as well.
As any other pattern we've made, this one was carefully tested in all sizes.
Features of the Girl's Shrug Pattern

• layered PDF feature of the pattern. This allows you to print only the sizes you are going to need.

Skill level: Confident beginner, sewing with knits.
I find this sewing pattern to be a beginner friendly project. However, if you are not used to working with knits, you might find it a bit challenging.
Sizes: US 12 months - 11 years, EU 74 - 146 (see the size chart below for detailed measurements).
The size chart is for body measurements, not for ready garment measurements.
Therefore, make sure to follow the fabric recommendations and choose a size according to your body measurements.
Fabric requirements for the Girls Shrug Pattern
Fabric consumption depends on the width of the fabric and the size you are going to make. The table above can be used as a reference to approximate fabric consumption if the fabric is at least 55 inches/140 cm wide.
Please, consider that natural fabrics like rayon and cotton shrink so measure after pre-wash.

•Regular sewing machine. Use a narrow zigzag stitch (or any type of stitch that is recommended for knits according to your machine manual) to join the details.
•Scissors for fabric and for paper.
•coverstitch machine for hems
