Tanya’s Dress is a design that you can make for any season, depending on the fabric choice. It has an oversized bodice part that drapes beautifully on the body and a fitted skirt. Both the dress and the tunic version can be made with or without the cuffs. This feature gives you four different looks.
you can wear it on both sides interchangeably. This pattern is designed for knitted fabric only. You can make it from jersey knits like cotton or rayon, Ponte de Roma, heavy weight knits, etc. The fabric should stretch in both directions and have at least 5% elastane.

I find this sewing pattern to be a beginner friendly project. However, if you are not used to working with knits, you might find it a bit challenging.

You are going to need approximately 2.3 meters/ 2.5 yards of fabric for smaller sizes and 2.7 meters/3 yards for the largest. The fabric should be 60 inches wide (150 cm). If you are making the tunic without the cuffs, reduce the fabric consumption with 85-95 cm/ 1 yard.
Fabric: Use medium weight to heavy stretchy knit fabric with at least 5% elastane like Cotton Jersey, Rayon, Ponte de Roma, etc. As the dress detail is cut against the grain, the fabric should stretch in both directions.
The pattern is created with a negative ease that works only with jersey knit fabric. Woven fabrics are not suitable for this design. The size chart is for body measurements, not finished garment measurements.
Other materials: 18 inches/46 cm of narrow elastic (approximately 0.7cm/ ¼ inch wide).
